Where do I even begin? Words truly cannot describe how grateful I am for New Beginnings By Jay. From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel so welcomed and at home. The atmosphere is warm, professional, and genuinely caring — you can tell they love what they do. That detox…. Oooh child 🙈💕💕… I’ve never had one of those before! And it was amazing. I took a chance booking with them after watching their TikTok lives for a while. I had previously experienced several failed attempts with different people playing in my head and continuously damaging my locs. I was honestly nervous. But let me tell you — this was the BEST decision I could have made for my hair. The level of care, patience, and attention they gave my locs was unmatched. They didn’t just “retwist” and send me on my way — they took their time to restore my locs properly. You can see and feel the difference. My scalp feels healthy, my parts are clean, and my locs look revived. The precision? Unreal. Now let’s talk about Leah 🥹💕. As a young loctician , best believe she is the baddest in the game. I’m sorry, but those who have been doing this for years truly don’t have anything on her. DO YOU SEE THIS PERFECTION?! The neatness, the structure, the finish — absolutely flawless. She has an eye for detail and perfection. Even though I live in the Midlands, I will most definitely be travelling back because when you find someone who genuinely cares for your hair and executes at this level, you hold onto them! I first came across New Beginnings by J on TikTok Live, and from the very beginning I had a strong feeling that Jay and his team were different. Watching them, I genuinely felt that they would treat everyone with the same level of care and professionalism — not just influencers, but every woman who sits in their chair. And I’m so glad I trusted that instinct. From the moment I met Jay the day before my appointment to drop off my bundles, everything was handled with intention and precision. My closure was plucked and my bundles were properly prepared before I had even sat in the chair. When I returned for my appointment, I received nothing short of a five-star experience. I have been going to hairdressers since my teenage years and now well into my 40s — and I can honestly say this is the first time I have experienced such a truly professional, high-level service. The atmosphere was welcoming, the care was genuine, and the attention to detail was outstanding. I grew up always being told, “Your hair is your crown,” but it was only after this experience that I truly understood what that meant. The finish was flawless — the hairline looks natural, the parting is clean, and the overall result is simply beautiful. Jay and the team showed exceptional professionalism from start to finish. The service was warm, respectful and attentive. This was more than just getting my hair done — it was a full experience. It is absolutely worth travelling across London for this level of quality and care. Thank you, Jay and the team, for reminding me what a true hair experience should feel like.

I had knotless braids done yesterday by Nancy and honestly couldn’t be happier. She is extremely professional, has incredible attention to detail, and clearly really knows her stuff. She made the whole experience so comfortable and relaxed, was incredibly kind, and worked impressively fast without ever rushing the quality. My braids are neat, light, beautifully balanced, and sit perfectly — exactly what I’d hoped for. As a Caucasian woman, I felt completely confident in her hands. She understands different hair types and adapts with real care and skill. Bonus points for her great taste in music too — such a lovely atmosphere the whole time. A genuinely brilliant experience. I’ll absolutely be back.

Took my daughter to New Beginnings By Jay for her very first hair appointment to have her hair washed and styled, and it was such a lovely experience. RiRi did her hair and she was absolutely amazing – so kind, patient, and very gentle, which really put my daughter at ease. She made the whole experience special and comfortable, especially for a first visit. The result was beautiful and my daughter left feeling so happy and confident. Thank you for such a positive first salon experience – we’ll definitely be back! 💕

I had an amazing experience with Layla & Nancy! They were so quick and my braids came out absolutely immaculate. The salon itself has such a great atmosphere and I felt comfortable the whole time. Their braiding skills really stand out. I’ll definitely keep coming back and highly recommend them to anyone looking for beautiful braids and excellent service!
